Our charcoal is made from a collection of Tennessee Hardwoods including Hickory, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Poplar.
- Using small dry twigs or 3-4 sheets of crumpled newspaper, place on the bottom of the grill, under grate.
- Loosely place 3 or 4 handfuls of charcoal on top of newspaper/twigs in a pyramid shape.
- Ignite paper. When coals are red (10-15 min.) spread out the coals and begin cooking. Add more charcoal as needed.
You may also use the assistance of charcoal/starter fluid for lighting.
Once lit the average heat up time is 10-15 minutes or until an even red color is evident in the charcoal chunks.
